LOURDES  WATER

Lourdes Rosary Shrine
Dominican Fathers
1104 S. Sixth Street
Louisville, KY  40203

This is natural water from the spring at Lourdes, France, which began to flow in 1858 when, at the command of the blessed virgin Mary, the little girl Bernadette dug in the ground at her feet.  The first cure was return of sight to a man who bathed his eye in the water.   The second cure was instantaneous complete recovery of health to a dying infant who had been immersed in the water by its mother.  The cures have been many.  Even more wonderful than the physical have been the spiritual cures worked in the souls of many.

"Lourdes Spring Water is for applying to infected or aching members of the body.  It is not a magic remedy nor related to witchcraft.  Great faith and insuperable confidence in the Immaculate Virgin is necessary."  (Excerpt from official slip sent with the Water from Lourdes.")

If you receive help or notable relief from the use of Lourdes Water, kindly write a letter of acknowledgement to this Shrine.

Lourdes Water is available at the Priory on S. Sixth Street during normal business hours.  A reasonable donation is expected for same, for though the Shrine pays nothing for the water, the shipping costs from France are considerable. Because of rising costs and lack of personnel, the distribution of Lourdes Water through the mail is being discontinued.

Prayer to Say When Using Lourdes Water

O Immaculate Virgin of Lourdes, I prostrate myself in spirit at the humble grotto where you once appeared and where you continue to dispense graces and wonders of love.  O Inexhaustible Source of Healing Graces, free me from my infirmities.   Protect me and keep misfortune from me.  Use thy boundless influence to obtain for me patience in my sufferings, restoration to health, and the grace to make good use of my lot in life for the glory of God.  Amen.    Our Lady of Lourdes, Pray for us.
